In addition, they know the requirements of learning about current issues in a country. As a result, they preferably watch the news and other national geographic channels. Moreover, discovery channels teach the importance of sustainability of the ecosystem. Both these channels ensure a wide range of knowledge for the people.

Secondly, it would be tiring to watch only serious matters all the time. Living in a competitive world makes humans workaholics. If these programs also enhance only the problems faced by society, then the channel rating would dwindle tremendously. For example, if a television program director had negative views about the LGBTQ community, it could have a particular effect on the way they manipulate their educational content.

In conclusion, I believe it is unfair to say that all entertainment programs should have educational value concerning social issues, as it would be almost impossible to create unbiased opinions and could result in the spread of propaganda.

This would make TV shows of light-hearted nature a poor choice for inclusion of content on pressing social issues.
