Đoạn văn 2
Read a text about bullying. Circle the letter A, B, C or D to indicate the best answer to each of the questions.
Bullying has always existed in our society. Bullying is not limited to physical behaviour, such as pushing or hurting other people. It also includes offensive comments, false rumours, threats, teasing, gossiping and social exclusion. For example, the bullies ignore the victims, laugh at them behind their back or make them feel like they don't belong to the group. Bullying can happen anywhere - in person or online where it is known as cyberbullying, and it has serious consequences.
Bullying affects all the students involved. Victims of bullying can experience depression and anxiety, increased feelings of sadness and loneliness. Kids who bully others are more likely to use alcohol or drugs, get into violent behaviours or drop out of school. Even bystanders - students who witness bullying- may feel less safe and have difficulty building positive relationships at school. These effects may continue into adulthood.
However, the good news is there's a lot we can do to solve the problem. It takes the whole community - children, parents, teachers and staff-to prevent bullying effectively. Students should be taught skills for recognising, reporting and refusing bullying. Bystanders can also make a huge difference when they stand up for the victims by helping the victims in any way they can or informing an adult immediately. Teachers should keep the lines of communication open by checking in with children and listening to them often. Moreover, teachers can help students get involved in after-school activities that are suitable to their hobbies and interests. All these elements help create a positive school environment where bullying is less likely to happen.
