A part-time job is the kind of work a person does for a few hours per week, allowing an individual to explore different other aspects of his or her character. In many countries, it is common for students to work part-time, which gives them the freedom to learn their courses practically, enhancing their knowledge of the subject. Some people are of the opinion that a job during the student years takes away the time and attention required during education.
Doing a part-time job while studying surely ensures more practical knowledge about a subject for the student. For example, a student doing a course on mechanical engineering is more likely to know about what he or she is studying when they get to work on the real tools in real life scenario. Even more, part-time jobs allow students to become more independent. Most students are seen saving money from their part-time jobs for their graduation.
However, odd jobs are very tough to handle for students. They need to focus not only on their studies but also on work, leaving them drained off, with no social life. It has been even observed that some students leave their education to work, while in many cases there have been positive results, in many the students were left with neither a good job nor a better education.
Overall, part time jobs offer more exposure to the students about their subjects, if chosen wrongly, it can leave the person drained off to pursue other plans. In my opinion, an individual should do a part time job, but it should always be something that he or she loves to do and enhances their personality.
Sample 2:
Most of the successful companies we have today, from Apple to Microsoft, and the successful people we cherish, from Shahrukh Khan to Kangana Ranaut, started with what they did as part-time jobs. It was when they realized they had fallen in love with this work that they actually made it big. Many people believe that part-time jobs allow individuals to explore their interests early in life, while others think that part-time work often leaves a person drained and unable to pursue future plans.
Odd jobs surely help individuals grow, perform better, and develop various skills. For example, a person may enjoy writing, but when they start working as a part-time writer, they come to understand the seriousness of their interest. It becomes much easier for them to choose a career later in life because they are already aware of their potential. Moreover, a part-time job allows a person to learn different aspects of life, such as hard work, punctuality, and discipline, which may indirectly affect their lives.
However, if not managed properly, part-time work can lead to exhaustion. Additionally, part-time workers are often excluded from health benefits and other services that companies provide to regular employees. Furthermore, a part-time worker is less likely to receive promotions compared to a regular employee. A student may find it challenging to focus on their studies, sometimes skipping classes to catch up on sleep. This can result in a very stressful life for the student, when their primary focus should be on acquiring knowledge.
In conclusion, nothing is perfect. Maintaining a job while studying is not something everyone can manage; it demands a lot of focus from the individual. One needs to ensure they learn well in school while maintaining a balanced workload. However, in my opinion, a person who can successfully balance both is more likely to benefit more than their counterparts.
Sample 3:
In recent years working and studying simultaneously has become an important and widely debated issue. While some people maintain that a part time job is highly beneficial for a student’s future, others reject this notion, believing that working is detrimental to a person’s studies. Personally, I believe the drawbacks outweigh the advantages.
For a variety of reasons, it can be worthwhile for students to get a job while they study. First of all, a student can gain vital knowledge in their given field. For example, if a person is studying to be a teacher, then working as a tutor in their free time will allow them to acquire experience before they begin their teaching career. Another advantage is the financial aspect. Many people rely on loans from their family or banks to partake in university. By having a part-time job students can earn money as they learn, which means they may not have the financial burden of paying back loans after they finish studying.
On the other hand, there are many negative aspects of working and studying at the same time. The biggest disadvantage is that work can be time-consuming. Students, especially those in university, have a heavy workload while studying due to numerous assignments and many tests throughout the course. If a student is overworked it could distract from their studies and cause them to lose focus, resulting in bad grades, which would affect their future careers. Moreover, students may have higher levels of stress due to their hectic schedules. This could result in a student feeling dejected with their career choice and they may even drop out of university.
Taking everything into account, although there are strong arguments to support the claim that working part time is advantageous, I am inclined to believe that it is better for students to focus on their studies because high grades often help them secure a better career in the future.
