Learning via computer may be convenient, but it stops students and teachers actually talking to each other about their subject. Pupils need to ask the teacher questions in order to fully understand the material and they also need to talk about the topic to help them remember and fully understand it. For example, the School of Law at Queen’s University allows students to question the professor at the end of each lecture and then they have a seminar in which learners can debate each topic, resulting in some of the best exam results in the UK.

Presenting lectures solely online also presents the problem of students not being motivated to watch them. It would be very difficult to know who actually viewed the lecture and if students know this, it is likely to result in more people not watching and not being fully prepared for the exam at the end of the course. For instance, Udemy, the online learning company, found that only 12% of people who purchased their online courses actually watched all the videos and completed the online tasks, principally due to lack of supervision.

In conclusion, exclusively online lectures are a bad idea because they do not allow face-to-face communication and they can lead to a drop-off in student attendance.

This has prompted many to suggest shelving classroom-based teaching methods. As to why technology is considered as the future of education will be discussed in this essay.

Technology has not only introduced the concept of distance learning but also, it has removed the time and place barrier from the way of learning. For instance, with the improvement in the educational structure, a person who is willing to go for higher qualifications can enroll for classes through the internet with ease without causing any harm to set schedule. Also, with the help of such growth, one can provide custom made tutorials to anyone across the globe such as providing guided lessons to a student sitting oceans apart which can be viewed anytime with a facility to watch lessons multiple times.

Similarly, conventional teaching is a tedious way of imparting knowledge. In such a setting, teachers usually interact with more than a hundred students at one time, and a few students may not be able to cope with the others. For example, in a traditional setup, where the educator is focusing on completing the syllabus, will not be able to repeat the whole chapter for any new student in the middle of the session. Moreover, such arrangements also face resistance from those who fail to express their doubts, fearing being judged for not being able to comprehend. 

In hindsight, it is needless to say that technology has not only enhanced the learning experiences in many ways but also has laid unprecedented convenience at the disposal of learners, whereas the classroom sessions are now only restricted to areas which lack the better infrastructure and technology.

With the advent of this techno-savvy era the world should be doing everything electronically. I do not whole-heartedly agree with this concept and feel that some parts of the lecture require a human presence.

In today’s environment, it is more practical and cost-effective to teach online. Almost every aspect of education can be digitized and delivered. The students also have an edge while learning as they can learn from the best global teachers and access to universal educational resources. Apart from that in situations like pandemics and disruptions of daily life, online lecturing can be extremely relevant. Therefore, it is feasible that this mode of imparting education is very effective not only for the people who deliver but also for the pupils who attend these sessions.

On the contrary, the traditional model of delivering lectures has its own charm. The teacher is physically present, and mentoring is easy. A holistic approach can be taken by the teacher to teach as the bonding between teacher and student is much more. Some concepts which require a demonstration like dissecting a body or having hand-on experience in a carpentry shop cannot be delivered online. These minor areas which require experiments can be a major deterrent to complete digitization. So, we cannot completely rule out this method which has been prevalent for eons.

From my perspective, it is not a wise thing to convert everything online and remove the human presence totally. A hybrid model can be evolved in which a speck of human factor is blended with digitization to bolster education.

There is currently a contentious argument over whether physical presentations should keep being held or be replaced by online ones as a new way of schooling in regard to the advance of technical resources. I believe that e-learning is the recommended option due to its convenience in comparison to the contemporary way of learning.

Firstly, having online classes or lectures is far more practical than regular ones. Online apprenticeship brought together all qualities that the future requires, which is unavoidable for most countries in the years to come because it offers the feasibility of learning from anywhere and in most cases at any time. For instance, if starts raining then the student will not have to mind going to school to attend classes as all what he needs is a good internet connection to attend the classes from their home which is really convenient.

Secondly, attending a virtual environment for lectures can be cheaper. This underlying trend allows institutions to cut direct costs; therefore, the price for attending a specific school or college will dramatically drop, which offer more opportunities for those students who cannot afford high tuitions especially in poor areas or in developing countries. Thus, considering that most learning institutions will not have to tackle the costs with water, lighting, rental and suchlike it is only a matter of time until the society starts to fell the benefits from the online learning.

In conclusion, when it comes to lectures, the e-learning system has proved that is far convenient for society as it is possible to access any platform from anywhere. Furthermore, tuition from private institutions tends to decrease at an alarming rate since they will not have to cope with staples costs to maintain their functionality.

It is often thought by many that classroom-based teaching methods are old fashioned and should not be continued in this era of technology. I completely agree with this viewpoint. This essay discusses how technology helps improve our teaching processes.

Firstly, technology has introduced the concept of distance learning. In other words, it has removed the time and place barrier from the way of learning. In a traditional way of teaching, the teacher and students were required to be in the same place at the same time. In contrast, with the help of electronic gadgets and the internet, one can deliver lectures to multiple students who are residing in the other hemisphere. To exemplify, many teachers in Pakistan now teach to people who are living in foreign countries and cannot travel to Pakistan to attend classes.

Secondly, personalized learning experience has become possible with the help of advanced technology. In classroom-based teaching, a teacher would be interacting with more than a hundred students at one time, and a student may not be able to cope with the other students. However, technology has allowed us to take one-on-one sessions so that learning can be enhanced. In addition to this, we can watch and listen to recorded lectures multiple times, which helps clarify our confusion. For instance, one of my friends has opted to take coaching classes from an Indian teacher rather than joining classes in the institution to get a personalized experience.

In conclusion, it is needless to say that technology has improved the learning experience in myriad ways. It has removed the hazards of space and time and has made customized learning experience possible. It is predicted that in the future, more and more lectures will be delivered through online classes.

It is true that current generations are obliged to participate in not only formal classes but also extra ones.

On the one hand, the proponents of said opinion have their rational grounds. First, this measure would endow useful and versatile individuals in society. In fact, to be able to handle the problems of accounting software, society will need individuals who study both programming and economics. The most pertinent reason is that learning excessively has detrimental impacts on the mental and physical well-being of pupils. Specifically, because students have to join extra classes after school, they lack respite. Worse still, learning too much in a long time forces them to deplete relaxation time. In addition, said practice prevents children from developing social relationships because of a lack of time. Particularly, studying could occupy all their leisure time, which should have been allocated to communication with friends. In reality, they are able to become lonely and reclusive adults, and lack interpersonal skills, one of which is public speaking.

In conclusion, it is indisputable that this policy allows learners to become versatile and own wonderful vocations. Nevertheless, the health of students and lacking soft skills are the matters which render this practice no longer an optimal decision.
