The advent of the Internet and digital technologies has allowed organizations to simulate full-fledged work or study environments at home. This is arguably a major breakthrough regarding workflow and study management despite some obvious, yet mitigable, repercussions.

Flexible work/study arrangement may increase the teleworkers and distance learners’ susceptibility to distractions caused by the comfort of the home environment, potentially reducing the work quality. Without the supervision of managers or instructors, task completion among the remote workers/students may be impeded by the temptation of various forms of entertainment available, such as social media or video games. This is particularly problematic among those with poor self-regulation skills. However, these issues can be mitigated by the adoption of deadline-driven management, which measures performance by one's ability to meet the deadlines. A bigger concern is the absence of human interaction, which leads to a greater chance of misunderstanding and limited opportunities for meaningful relationship building. This can be partially solved by creating occasions for socializing, where people can forge a better bond with others.

By contrast, the notable implications of distance work and study include, among other things, cost/time efficiency and the possibility for continuity during crises. Remote employees and students can effectively finish their work, report progress to their supervisors, and attend group discussions at their computer desk, cutting travel time and expenditures on gasoline and transport. From a business perspective, spacious offices and schools with prohibitive rent and overheads are no longer necessary now that most meetings can be held with video conferencing software. Besides, home-based working/studying offers the option to maintain business and school activities during challenging periods such as wartime or infectious disease outbreaks, when gatherings are unsafe and therefore inadvisable.

All things considered, the phenomenon in question is a great stride towards sustainable education and business as long as the drawbacks are properly addressed.

It is a plain truth that there is a rising trend of online schooling and telecommuting as modern computer technology enables people to connect to each other effortlessly. From my perspective, this is a positive development since it benefits both individuals and society significantly.

Firstly, in relation to individuals, computer technology brings education and job opportunities to everyone, especially those who are under tough circumstances. Conventional schooling and working style are only available to a limited number of people who have resources of time and capital. However, new technologies, particularly computer ones, have empowered everyone to learn and work effectively in spite of their difficulties. For example, a mother who has to stay at home to take care of her new-born baby and (her) old mother can do an online job to support her family financially. Students in low-income families who have to work in the daytime to make ends meet can attend Internet-based courses at night. Children living in remote areas, where travelling to school might sometimes be risky, can now take online classes through their connected computer.

Secondly, on the level of society, the fact that education and job opportunities become reachable to a higher number of computer users means that human resources are expanded and improved. To be specific, there is a larger workforce since more people can contribute to the productivity of society. For students, this new approach of education may encourage them to learn and make positive changes for the community in the future.

In conclusion, it is no doubt that computer technology has made life easier. Therefore, it is expected that the easy access to work and knowledge created by computer technology can be a contributing factor to the fast progress of the world.

Sample 3:

In today’s world, the evolution of computer technology plays a vital role in society due to its easy connectivity, convenience, and cost-effectiveness. Consequently, a growing number of individuals, both adults and juveniles, are inclined towards working and studying from the comfort of their homes. From my perspective, this trend has the potential to be a breakthrough for the progress of human life.

On one hand, it is evident that workers can benefit from this phenomenon in overcoming various job-related challenges. To be more specific, in many countries, the issue of unemployment persists on a large scale due to an imbalance between the supply of employees and job demands. The popularity of the internet has a significant impact, creating job opportunities for many individuals facing unemployment. For instance, the recent surge in Vietnamese citizens engaging in online work has made a substantial contribution to the economic growth of the country. Additionally, working from home presents an opportunity not only for individual workers but also for companies, allowing them to hire people regardless of their geographical location and save on operational costs.

On the other hand, online learning offers several benefits for teenagers. To be more precise, the demand for education always holds a crucial role in society. However, in certain places, particularly in downtown areas, people face barriers such as school fees and limited study spaces, making it challenging for them to pursue education. The advent of the internet provides an opportunity for young individuals to easily access online lessons, enabling them to study from anywhere. This development is not limited to downtown teenagers; urban students also benefit by easily acquiring knowledge and accessing advanced online courses. For example, the literacy rates among children in India have shown significant improvement as a result of studying at home.

In conclusion, it is undeniable that the internet’s development has brought about a positive shift in the lifestyle of modern people. Despite the potential drawbacks, I firmly believe that the numerous advantages stemming from computer technology contribute significantly to societal growth.

Sample 4:

In recent years, the popularity of remote work and online learning has surged, thanks to the affordability and accessibility of computer technology. From my perspective, this trend presents both advantages and disadvantages. This essay aims to delve into both sides of the issue.

On the positive side, there are substantial benefits to working and studying from home. One significant advantage is the convenience it offers. Individuals can manage their time flexibly, crafting schedules that suit their needs. Those working from home can easily juggle household chores, childcare duties, and other daily tasks. Additionally, staying at home provides a sense of security, sparing individuals from traffic congestion, road accidents, or inclement weather. Similarly, students studying at home are shielded from school-related issues like bullying. Moreover, this trend fosters stronger family bonds, as every member has more quality time together, contributing to the happiness and comfort of each individual.

Conversely, there are notable drawbacks associated with excessive screen time. Spending prolonged hours in front of digital devices can lead to sedentary lifestyles, as individuals prioritize work and study over outdoor activities like sports or picnics. Moreover, prolonged computer use can lead to eye disorders such as refractive errors. For instance, a review of 30 studies on problematic internet use among individuals working and studying from home in Vietnam found that 30 percent of participants experienced short-sightedness.

In conclusion, while the advantages of working and learning from home are undeniable, it’s crucial to acknowledge the associated disadvantages. Individuals must be mindful of these challenges and work towards finding solutions to maintain productivity and enhance overall well-being.

Sample 5:

An increasing number of people nowadays conduct their work and study from the comfort of their homes as a result of the advancements in computers. In my view, although this trend, like any other, has its drawbacks, these are largely outweighed by the associated personal and social benefits.

To begin, there are health-related side effects associated with this change. The sedentary lifestyle of modern humans has been at the core of many health issues in the modern world, a problem this change has only aggravated. As unintentional as it may be, but traveling to work or study is a form of exercise for people, an exercise that has largely been taken away due to an increasing number of people preferring to work or study from home. However, it is equally true that, due to the saved traveling time, these people have extra time to attend to their health. The sedentary lifestyle can, thus, be considered more of a conscious choice than a condition forced by circumstances.

On the individual level, the most obvious upside has been an improved work-life balance for people who have embraced this new trend. Some of their time and energy, which would otherwise have been expended on traveling, is saved and people are able to give more time to their hobbies or families. Collectively, this change has proved beneficial for the living environment. To explain, a significant cause of rising pollution levels has been the excess number of vehicles, with daily commuters or student travelers being the prime culprit. With more people being able to study or work from home, however, the number of vehicles, and consequently, the amount of pollution has decreased.

In conclusion, although the trend of working and studying from home does pose health risks, these can easily be overcome through individual effort. The advantages, in this case – better work-life balance and a healthier environment, make this a positive development overall.

Sample 6:

The rapid advancement of computerized technologies and the deepening division of labor have enabled an increasing number of individuals to carry out their daily tasks from the comfort of their own homes. However, whether this development is a positive or negative one for employees, employers, and society as a whole has become a pressing issue worldwide. From my perspective, I strongly believe that telecommuting can bring more benefits than drawbacks to the general public.

To begin with, telecommuting can save citizens' time, particularly for those living in remote areas far from city centers. By allowing employees to work mostly online from home, the burden of commuting and the accompanying traffic congestion can be significantly reduced. Moreover, working in a familiar environment can help employees feel more relaxed and focused, ultimately leading to improved quality and efficiency. In contrast, workers who are confined to the office often engage in various distractions to pass the time until the end of the workday. Additionally, for companies like Google and Microsoft, granting employees the option to work from home can be a wise strategy to reduce expenses on office rent and furniture, which can constitute a substantial portion of their budget.

However, it is important to acknowledge the potential drawbacks associated with widespread telecommuting. The most notable one is the absence of teamwork, which is crucial for the success of many projects. In today's interconnected society, both businesses and individual workers increasingly rely on collaboration, and remote employees may find it challenging to communicate and coordinate effectively with their colleagues in person. Furthermore, supervision and monitoring can present various obstacles, as it is both unethical and illegal to install surveillance cameras in employees' homes.

In conclusion, despite the challenges related to supervision and teamwork, I am convinced that embracing teleworking should be encouraged from an enlightened standpoint. The advantages of telecommuting, such as time savings, enhanced well-being, and cost reduction for businesses, outweigh the potential drawbacks. By embracing this flexible work arrangement, individuals and organizations can adapt to the changing needs of the modern world.

Sample 7:

It is true that these days thanks to the development and proliferation of computer technology, more people choose to work and study from home. In my opinion, this is a very positive trend.

This development benefits both employers and employees tremendously. With technological advances, many companies these days are able to employ the most talented people they need with no geographical limits. In addition, since they do not have to rent spacious offices or pay much money for electricity and other utilities, they can save huge amounts of money. At the same time, employees working from home can eliminate the commute time, enabling them to have more time to get more work done. Furthermore, telecommuting allows people who work far from the office to have a better work-life balance since they have more quality time with their loved ones.

Students can also derive several benefits from distance learning educational programs. A major advantage is that those who study from home can set their own pace, which can help them become more productive and prevent them from suffering from stress caused by schoolwork. Another advantage is that this option allows students to attend online courses all over the world. For example, it is now possible for students from Vietnam to enroll in online educational programs from the US with ease. Having globally recognized degrees, these students can stand a higher chance of having better career prospects.

In conclusion, because of the advancement and ubiquity of computers, more and more people favor the idea of working and studying remotely. In my view, this is an extremely positive development since it benefits employers, employees and students.

Sample 8:

In this day and age, with cheaper and more accessible computer technology, many people are opting to work and study from home. In my opinion, this is a positive development due to several reasons.

To begin with, there are a huge number of benefits for both workers and students choosing this method of work and study. Firstly, people do not need to spend time traveling to school or their workplace as they can now easily access the internet at home to complete their work. As a result, people can not only save time but also minimize the risks and costs of using transport on a daily basis to commute. On top of that, working from home gives people a chance to manage their work and leisure time more effectively. For instance, while people are required to sit in front of a computer and crunch numbers every day from nine to five, people who work from home can easily manage their schedule better to suit their needs in order to complete their work in a better state of mind.

In addition to the benefits that remote work and study brings to individuals; this trend also brings about positive outcomes for schools and businesses. In fact, schools and businesses could save a lot of money that would otherwise be allocated to the construction and maintenance of buildings and facilities. Instead, that money could be invested in enhancing other things, such as updating study programs, or other facilities that allow staff and students to work more effectively and help to build up the reputation of those institutes as well.

In conclusion, I hold a firm belief that working and studying from home is an advantageous trend as it generates many merits for all sides involved.
