Ⅷ. Read the following passage. Then read sentences A-F, and choose the one that best fits each gap. There is ONE extra sentence.

THE JURASSIC COAST

If you travel to the southwest, the Jurassic Coast is worth a visit. The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site stretching 95 miles from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset, England. ___(31)__ You don’t have to be a geologist to admire the stony and sandy coastline, where the landscape changes due to landslides and erosion. You might pick up a fossil on a walk along stunning Chesil Beach and admire Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous rock formations. ___ (32)____ It is considered the only place in the world which displays unbroken evidence of 185 million years of evolution. __(33)___ Rock falls and landslides can happen at any time, quickly and without warning. Tides have also reshaped and stripped beaches around the coast, which means it is easier for the coast to be cut off by the incoming tides. Luckily, there are tide time apps available to check for more information. Besides, walking along coastal paths may be muddy and slippery in places. __(34)___

The beauty of the area obviously attracts a lot of visitors, so there are high-profile campaigns for zero-impact tourism. __(35)___ For example, every year, thousands of volunteers join in a coastal clean-up to protect the Jurassic Coast for future generations. Besides, the towns of Devon and Dorset are becoming plastic-free communities, so single-use plastic is now a thing of the past in those places.

A. However, there are some safety regulations that visitors need to know.

B. These campaigns are trying to prevent sea and beach pollution, and are aimed at people on holiday in the

area, as well as local residents.

C. It’s one of the most beautiful nature reserves in England.

D. When you are planning a fossil hunt, always check the tides.

E. Therefore, it’s important to stay on official routes and follow warning signs at all times.
