I have a lot of hobbies, but my favorite hobby is cooking.
I started cooking when I was eight years old. My mom taught me how to make cookies and cupcakes. She shared a lot of recipes with me, and I learned a lot from her. Sometimes I cook with my friends from school, too. I always cook in my kitchen at home. I like cooking on the weekends. We have more time to make lots of delicious food.
I really think that cooking is the best hobby for young people.

One of my favorite hobbies is reading books. I often read books when I have free time. I started reading when I was five years old. My mom bought me some picture books. I really liked reading them. Moreover, it can give me unlimited imagination, so I can write books in the future. I can learn the different cultures and customs of other countries in the world too. I read books for at least one hour every day. I wish I could read different kinds of books because it might be very challenging.

When I have free time, I usually listen to music. Except school time, music lives with me for almost the rest of the day. I listen to it when I am on the bus, when I do the house chores, or even when I am taking a shower, and whenever I feel like I need it. Music is always a new thing because it changes each day. Some of my favorite types are Pop, Country, Ballad, and Dance. Each of them gives me a different feeling, so I choose the songs to listen to according to my current mood. I listen to Pop songs when I am comfortable and happy, Country and Ballad is for relaxing, and Dance is for when I want to move my body. Sometimes when I go outside, I just put my playlist in shuffle mode, and it is very interesting not to know about the upcoming song. I do have some of my favorite singers, and I usually download their whole album to my phone. Music helps me to relax, cheer up my mood, and ease my nerves after a long exhausting day. Since it does not take too much of my time, effort, and money, I will feel free to consider it as my favorite activity of all time.

My hobby is swimming. It is also my favorite sport since I was little. Swimming has four main strokes, which are crawl stroke, breaststroke, back crawl stroke, and butterfly stroke. My favorite swimming style is breaststroke. I go to the swimming pool three or four times a week. Because I want to achieve good results, I practice a lot. Swimming also brings lots of advantages for human health. It helps me keep fit. By swimming, I can burn 25% of my body’s fat. Besides that, with swimming I can free myself from asthma. Swimming also keeps you safe in the water. Swimming is interesting and pleasant; it is a good choice for a hobby.

Cooking has been my hobby for several years. My grandmother taught me how to cook my first dish when I was 8. She was a professional chef and owned her own restaurant. Some people say cooking is a waste of time, but I find this hobby very interesting and meaningful. Cooking is challenging my mind and taking my mind off the stress of everyday life. Another advantage is that it enables me to expand my creativity. I have invested hours of my time per day to gain more knowledge about different cooking methods. I hope I will become a good chef and have my own cookery book in the future.
