My favourite hobby is reading; therefore, I have collected various types of books. I started reading fairy tales when I was four years old. At first, I was interested in colorful pictures with meaningful content. When reading a story with a happy ending, I felt very happy. Reading books brings me a lot of benefits. Firstly, it makes me relaxed and calm. After a hard-working day, I can relieve stress by reading a funny story. I also learn new vocabulary items. Then I can further improve my English. Moreover, it can give me an unlimited imagination, so I can write books in the future. I can learn the different cultures and customs of other countries in the world too. I read books at least one hour every day. I wish I could read different kinds of books because it might be very challenging.

Sample 2:

When I have free time, I usually listen to music. Except school time, music lives with me for almost the rest of the day. I listen to it when I am on the bus, when I do the house chores, or even when I am taking a shower, and whenever I feel like I need it. Music is always a new thing, because it changes each day. Some of my favorite types are Pop, Country, Ballad, and Dance. Each of them gives me a different feeling, so I choose the songs to listen to according to my current mood. I listen to Pop songs when I am comfortable and happy, Country and Ballad is for relaxing, and Dance is for when I want to move my body. Sometimes when I go outside, I just put my playlist on shuffle mode, and it is very interesting not to know about the upcoming song. I do have some of my favorite singers, and I usually download their whole album to my phone. Music helps me to relax, cheer up my mood, and ease my nerves after a long exhausting day. Since it does not take too much of my time, effort and money, I will feel free to consider it as my favorite activity of all time.

My hobby is swimming. It is also my favorite sport since I was little. Swimming has four main strokes, which are crawl stroke, breaststroke, back crawl stroke, and butterfly stroke. My favorite swimming style is breaststroke. I go to the swimming pool three or four times a week. Because I want to achieve good results, I practice a lot. Swimming also brings lots of advantages for human’s health. It helps me keep fit. With swimming, I can burn 25% of my body’s fat. Besides that, with swimming I can be free from asthma. Swimming also keeps you safe in the water. Swimming is interesting and pleasant, it is a good choice for a hobby.

Cooking has been my hobby for several years. My grandmother taught me how to cook my first dish when I was 8. She was a professional chef and owned her own restaurant. Some people say cooking is a waste of time but I find this hobby very interesting and meaningful. Whenever I feel sad or upset, cooking eases that for me in a big way, because I will have very little time to think when I am cooking. Cooking is challenging my mind and taking my mind off the stress of everyday life. Another advantage is that it enables me to expand my creativity. I have invested hours of my time per day to get more knowledge about different cooking methods. I hope I will become a good chef and have my own cookery book in the future.

Most of us have individual preferences. Collecting certain objects such as: coins, stickers, shoes, etc. is one of the most popular hobbies. Collecting shoes is my hobby. Nowadays, this hobby has become more popular when people recognized that shoes are not only used to wear but also to express their personalities. I collect different types of shoes such as heels, athletic shoes, flats,… Each type of shoes has its own function in different circumstances.I am interested in collecting shoes although it is an expensive hobby. I will try my best to earn lots of money to continue collecting more shoes in the future.
