In 1945, representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco at the United Nations Conference on (29) Organisation to approve the United Nations Charter. The United Nations (UN) was established on 24 October 1945 by 51 countries who agreed to (30) peace through international cooperation and shared mutual security. All UN Member States are represented in the General Assembly - a group of nations, which (32) to discuss the world's most urgent problems. Each Member State has one vote.
