(“Nếu bạn ứng tuyển công việc đó, họ sẽ gọi điện cho bạn để sắp xếp một cuộc phỏng vấn.” bạn của tôi nói với tôi.) Câu trực tiếp là câu điều kiện loại 1 và thuộc trường hợp “still true” (vẫn còn đúng) nên ta không cần lùi thì của động từ khi chuyển sang câu gián tiếp. Tuy nhiên, ta cần biến đổi chủ ngữ “you” thành “I” và tân ngữ “you” thành “me”.
Dịch nghĩa: Bạn của tôi nói rằng nếu tôi ứng tuyền công việc đó, họ sẽ gọi điện cho tôi để sắp xếp một cuộc phỏng vấn.
