Mia: Well, it's quite interesting learning about prodigies! I'm writing about Ruth Lawrence …. that woman who was really amazing at maths when she was a girl.

Sira: Oh yeah ... Mmm... maths. I can't really do all those difficult maths exercises at school.

Mia: Oh, I can ... sometimes! That's why I wanted to write about this girl.

Mia: So she started university at the age of twelve. And she was the youngest student to get a degree from Oxford University in modern times. She was only thirteen.

Sira: So what happened after that?

Mia: Well, she did work at universities. And she became a professor at an American university at the age of twenty-two. And she's now an expert in a particular type of maths.

Sira: Well that's good!

Mia: So which child prodigy are you writing about?

Sira: The artist Picasso.
